The AT&SF High Level Prototype 71-seat chair car was built by Budd Car company and made its name on the famous Santa Fe 'EL CAPITAN'  passenger train from Chicago to Los Angeles.  Cars could also be found on the San Francisco Chief and the Texas Chief later in life. These cars (1st order) carried fewer passengers due to the step-down ends/ stairs since the cars on one end had doors at the upper level cars and the opposite end had doors at single level car levels.
