We take pride in offering some of the best brands of scale models trains with a particular focus on HO scale (1/87th) model trains. Our team has a passion for offering you personalized service, quality products and great images allowing you to make an educated decision prior to purchase.
Overland Hobbies was created as we transitioned from brass model train importing as Overland Models to becoming a retailer in the early 2000s. Rather than researching and importing our own line or products we now have the freedom to offer a wide variety of new products from a variety of your favorite model train vendors. In addition we offer brass and plastic consignment models from customers that have gently used or simply collected products and now desire to reduce their model train inventory/ collection.
We are a small business with an online focus to serve customers throughout the world. Our primary team is Brian and Missy Marsh that work hard to deliver great models at reasonable prices that are well-packaged and safely delivered from our business to your model railroad.
Brian has been around trains all of his life with many years of working, researching and photographing models alongside his father Tom Marsh with Overland Models as a major brass model train importer from 1976 to the early 2000s. Brian brings his love from prototype railroads to miniature form in the model trains we now offer with Overland Hobbies. He is passionate about model trains, quality presentation of the product we offer and working to connect model trains with his love for being trackside with his camera. Ever since he was a young man he has been chasing trains and taking photos and now gets to employ these favorite hobbies into his business.
Brians wife, Missy, was quickly indoctrinated with his love for trains beginning with when we started dating and now a lifetime of railroad related trips and sitting trackside with Brian so he can photograph model railroad equipment in action. Missy has been a wonderful and supportive wife that brings lots of creative ideas to our model railroad business. Educated in Accounting with a number of years in the banking industry Missy handles all of the business accounting, model shipping/ packing, and data entry for our website. These are just a few of the many things Missy offers along with being a loving and passionate supporter of our family and our family business. Missy is also a wonderful cook and both of us enjoy working on our lawn and caring for all of our plantings that fill our landscape.
Ella and Kayce are our two Labradoodles that Missy and I love as though they are our children. Much of our time is dedicated to keeping our pups happy and healthy as they also provide us with love beyond our dreams.
Brians parents Tom and Jan Marsh provide support and assistance as they can to keep them active. Dad enjoys unpacking new product arrivals and checking out what is new in the hobby. Mom provides support by giving love and attention to Ella and Kayce as well.
All in all, we are simply a small family business. We may not be the fastest, the biggest or slickest operation, but we sincerely want to make you feel a part of the success of our business.
